Missions Radio Interview with John Boyd of Missions Aviation Fellowship

March 28, 2017

This is one of my favorite interviews, out of hundreds, so far..I love what Missions Aviation Fellowship stands for and what they do, every hour of everyday..This is a must hear.

You'll find MAF in the hardest-to-reach locations, where people live isolated from the rest of the world, cut off from the most basic necessities. Our highly trained pilots maneuver Cessna and KODIAK aircraft through rugged terrain. And while passengers might hold their breath, MAF pilots skillfully land at short, unimproved airstrips on the sides of mountains, in jungle clearings, or on tropical rivers—to bring medicine and doctors, disaster relief, education, evangelists, Bible translators, food supplies, agriculture and clean water projects, and more. Why do we do it? Because we’re passionate about sharing Christ's love beyond where the road ends

Missions Radio Interview with Athena Dean Holtz

March 9, 2017

From a young age, Athena Dean Holtz chased affirmation and attention from all the wrong sources, leaving her empty and alone. A victim of physical abuse and spiritual deception, she was deceived by Scientology, forays into mysticism and 12 years in a restrictive and legalistic cult, she lost everything—her marriage, relationships, home, business, money and reputation. In her forthcoming book Full Circle: Coming Home to the Faithfulness of God (Redemption Press, Feb. 27, 2017), Holtz candidly tells her story of self-discovery, redemption and freedom as she surrendered to Jesus.

“This is the story of how God brought me full circle,” writes Holtz. “How he brought me home . . . to a place I had always longed for, but never knew how to find.”

In Full Circle, Holtz vulnerably shares her journey and gives readers a front-row seat to her story of a shattered life restored. An important story for anyone who has questioned his or her worth or direction; Holtz proves that anyone who believes God and invites Him to join in their trials welcomes the result of His triumph. Full Circle offers not only her life story but biblical answers to the raw questions she asked during the peaks and valleys of her life.

“Knowing how much God loves me, I am finding my significance in Him rather than in what I do or with whom I am associated.”

Missions Radio Interview with Dr. Del Tackett..One Night Showing “Is Genesis History?”

February 22, 2017

WHAT               In the enlightening new documentary, IS GENESIS HISTORY?, Dr. Del Tackett leads audiences on a remarkable journey through evidence supporting historic claims in the Book of Genesis with renowned scientists and Bible scholars.

WHO                Featuring host Dr. Del Tackett, creator of The Truth Project, IS GENESIS HISTORY?, from Compass Cinema, is produced and directed by Thomas Purifoy, Jr.

WHEN              In cinemas for one night Thursday, February 23, at 7 p.m. local time, from Fathom Events.

SYNOPSIS       Traveling across the continent, Dr. Del Tackett talks to experts in geology, biology, astronomy, archaeology, the Bible and more—seeking answers to centuries-long questions surrounding the book of Genesis:

  • Was the universe created in six literal days?
  • Did humans evolve?
  • Were Adam and Eve real?
  • Was there a global flood?
  • What happened to the dinosaurs?

From immense available evidence about our origins, two histories arise. But which is correct? IS GENESIS HISTORY? presents a positive, evidenced-based case for the Bible’s historical reliability.

On both sides, discussions of life’s origins quickly turn negative. In the

exciting new documentary, IS GENESIS HISTORY?, Director Thomas

Purifoy, Jr. takes another road, laying out conversational, understandable

specifics for the Book of Genesis as history. Ask Purifoy and Dr. Del Tackett

about the importance of history in this debate, especially as it relates to the Bible and science.

Seeing his 10-year-old daughter lose certainty about the Bible’s historical reliability, filmmaker Thomas Purifoy, Jr. realized he couldn’t clearly explain his own beliefs. And from that “Ah ha” came this feature-length documentary. Ask Purifoy about the seminal conversation with his 10-year-old, and what he discovered in his search to understand how these issues relate to students.

The evidence isn’t new, but our ability to analyze and decipher it grows at the speed of technology. How do new data and new discoveries send us back for another perspective on longstanding evidence?

A lot of Christians may wonder why Genesis matters to our lives. Is it really a big deal to think the earth is old, or that humans evolved? Ask Purifoy and Dr. Del Tackett about the importance of Genesis to our lives today.

Missions Radio Interview with John Finch of “The Father Effect”

February 3, 2017

John Finch grew up the youngest of 3 boys in a suburb of Dallas where he lost his father to suicide at age 11. As a young man, John did anything he could to avoid confronting the wounds he suffered as a result of being fatherless. His craving for affirmation from a father who was not there to provide it, led him to seek that affirmation from the world in many unhealthy ways. In an attempt to find value as a man, he created a false persona that left him completely unfulfilled. His life was based on the pursuit of money in order to prove his success and he became a social alcoholic as he strived to be the life of every party and gain the attention of those around him.

It was only when John realized and dealt with the unresolved issues of his father wound that he was able to become truly fulfilled. On April 10th, 2009, he finally came face to face with the issues that drove him to seek approval from a father who was not there to give it to him. By forgiving his father and recognizing what it truly means to be a man by God’s standard, he became a new man, husband and father.

John seeks to break down the barriers that prevent men and women from addressing deep rooted anger and hurt from the wounds they have suffered in this life by candidly and openly sharing his story, his failings, and his path to a new way of life. John’s mission is to educate, encourage and equip men to become the fathers they were created to be, and to help men walk in daily awareness of their significant and lifelong influence as fathers. Through The Father Effect Movie, John shares stories and messages that will move viewers to a new awareness about the everlasting impact of fathers and the importance of forgiveness and openness in the relationships of this world.

John has been married for 21 years and has three beautiful daughters. He is incredibly thankful for the second chance to be a father and husband who can offer himself to those he loves without the burden of the bitterness and anger that overshadowed his life for so many years.

Pure Flix & NHCLC Join Forces to Increase
Hispanic Presence in Film Industry
Global partnership aligns vision, influence, assets & resources
to develop faith & family media
DALLAS, Nov. 7, 2016 – During a Facebook Live event on Friday, Nov. 4, Pure Flix COO Steve Fedyski and Vice President of Global Strategic Alliances Franklin Santagate, announced with Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC)/CONEL, a formal partnership between the No. 1 Christian production studio in the world, Pure Flix, and the world's largest Hispanic Christian organization, NHCLC.

Although Latinos purchase 25 percent of all movie tickets sold, recent studies show that Latino community is one of the least represented population segments in speaking roles in film and television; in 2015, there was only one Latino-centric film released by a major studio.
"Hispanics engage movies more than any other ethnic group in America; however, there is this issue with the content and depictions of the Latino community that has not been well-represented," said Rev. Rodriguez. "We aren't all gang bangers. We're not all narco-traffickers from Latin America. We are God-fearing, hard-working people. This alliance will expose our community and engage us in a way we've never been able to before."
The organizations have committed to a long-term exclusive strategic alliance for five years that aligns common vision, influence, assets and resources to develop faith and family media. Pure Flix and NHCLC hope that this partnership increases the presence of Hispanic themes, actors, directors and stories in the film and entertainment industry.
One key aspect of the partnership will develop internships for Latinos seeking to learn all aspects of the industry.
"We want people that have the core values and the love and hope of Christ infiltrated all through the industry because then that transformed leader or individual will be a transformation agent in the culture," said Fedyski.
Additionally, initiatives included in this alliance are:
  • Casting Latinos in the film industry in more prominent and meaningful roles;
  • Carefully assessing cultural references and plot lines in films to ensure the portrayal of the Latino population is accurately depicted, respectful, and free form stereotypes and stigma; and
  • Increasing the content readily available for the Spanish-speaking community on PureFlix.com.

Pure Flix is a Christian movie studio that produces, distributes and acquires Christ-centered movies with a vision to influence the global culture for Christ through media, and a mission to be the world leader in producing and distributing faith and family media. Missions Radio Interview with Dan Wallrath of Operation Finally Home 11/11/2016

November 11, 2016

What if you felt called to do something that seemed like a completely impossible undertaking given the limited amount of time and resources you had?

Texas-based custom home builder, Dan Wallrath experienced this first hand in 2005 when asked to help a stranger who needed his home remodeled so he and his wife could take care of their son, a U.S. Marine Core Lance Cpl. who had sustained severe head injuries from an IED explosion while serving his first tour of duty in Iraq. Without the funds, and with no real plan, Dan said yes to this desperate father, completing the family’s home renovations a few months later.

Soon after, Operation FINALLY HOME was born as a 501C3 nonprofit organization with a mission to build homes for wounded, ill or injured veterans, surviving spouses and their families.

Building Hope: What Happens When God Changes Our Plans to Accomplish His is the story of Dan’s journey as he followed his call to serve America’s military heroes, starting with a team of one and growing to lead one of the nation’s most respected non-profit organizations serving U.S. veterans. This inspirational memoir reveals how stepping out in faith turned into a lifetime commitment to build homes for those who have sacrificed while wearing America’s uniform in defense of our freedoms and our way of life.

How We Can Change Our Nation, with John Bevere

October 19, 2016

John believes that so many “Christians” are caught up in the election because they are living life with a 70-80 year perspective, instead living life with an eternal perspective.  “When you live life with eternal goals, your whole focus changes…you start make decisions differently, pursue things differently, your interest become different,” says John. John believe that it’s all about getting your focus right…aligning with the King and His Kingdom who is eternal and never changes.

“Driven By Eternity” book excerpt:

To capture the best view of eternity, we must look at God Himself. He is not limited in power, knowledge, wisdom, understanding, or glory—just to name a few. He is self-existent; forever He was and forever He will be God. He is called the “Everlasting Father” (Isaiah 9:6).

He is called the “King of eternity” (1 Timothy 1:17 AMP). All that is eternal is found in Him; in fact, eternity itself is found in Him. All that is outside of Him is temporal and will change.

No matter how good, noble, powerful, or enduring it may seem…it will eventually cease. Even the earth and universe will change, but He will not:

“Lord, in the beginning you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. Even they will perish, but you remain forever. They will wear out like old clothing. You will roll them up like an old coat.” (Hebrews 1:10–12 NLT)

Not only will He never cease, but He remains eternally the same. Scripture declares:

“All flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away, but the word of the Lord endures forever. Now this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.” (1 Peter 1:24–25)

God is eternal; therefore, what He speaks is eternal. He cannot lie, nor can what He says be broken. If it weren’t so, then all would collapse into utter darkness, for He is light and upholds all things by His Word. There can never be a change to what He says, or else He would no longer be eternal. That is a sure foundation upon which we can build our lives.

Missions Radio Interview with The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC) Pastor Tony Suarez

September 1, 2016
Pastor Tony Suarez and I discuss the following:
Trump's Immigration Speech
Pastor.Sam.2016.small.jpgThe National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC) Executive Vice President Rev. Tony Suarez and I talk after Presidential Candidate Donald Trump's immigration speech in Phoenix on Wednesday, August 31 to discuss issues that need to be addressed by the candidate in order for Hispanic Evangelicals to support him at the ballot box.
Rodriguez has personally met with Trump and advocated for him to "build a bridge, not a wall," as he opined in a July editorial in TIME. Neither Rodriguez nor the NHCLC, as a whole, has endorsed a presidential candidate.

Suarez serves on Trump's Evangelical Executive Advisory Committee, as a private citizen, not as a representative of the NHCLC. His participation does not represent a personal endorsement, rather an opportunity to provide counsel to the campaign on issues important to Latinos and evangelicals, and help build a bridge to the Hispanic community and churches.
We discuss Trump's immigration stance, issues of importance to the Latino Evangelical community, Trump's past remarks that have made this community reluctant to support him, and actions Trump needs to take to win the votes of the Hispanic community.
The NHCLC is the largest Hispanic Christian organization representing millions of Evangelicals and more than 40,000 U.S. churches.

Missions Radio Interview with Plumb (New Release of “Smoke”)

August 22, 2016

PLUMB Preps to Resume Fall Leg of Big Daddy Weave’s Beautiful Offerings Tour, Launches Next Single “Smoke”

loriincali_Exhalecover--1.jpegNashville, TN – After a fun family-focused summer, Curb Records artist PLUMB will be honored to re-join Big Daddy Weave on their Beautiful Offerings tour this fall, featuring new special guest We Are Messengers. The Beautiful Offerings tour kicks off August 18 in Watertown, SD.
Since the May 2015 release of EXHALE, PLUMB has been focused on sharing the album’s themes: reflecting a grateful heart, giving credit to God for the restoration of her marriage and sharing the hope that He alone can give.  The format of The Beautiful Offerings tour matches the artist’s focus – to share personal stories of hope and thanksgiving and to offer an evening of worship.
Her new single “SMOKE,” which impacts radio on August 19tells the story of God redeeming his people from anxiety, shame, and hurt. Plumb describes it as, “Whatever smoke you are trying to breathe that is not breathable, and whatever ash and soot you are standing in, and you feel worthless and drenched in regret, pain, sorrow and inability to move, let God use this song to free you right now.”
Her previous album - NEED YOU NOW - was a runaway success, and was heavily focused around the near loss and redemption of her marriage. Over the past two years, Plumb’s life theme has been “hope is oxygen”, explaining that hope keeps us alive when our lives are in turmoil. Now, EXHALE launches a new call to action, to exhale a message of hope to others who are hurting.
